Just Christopher!!
Turno de nuevo de presentaciones, este es nuestro amigo Chris. Tuvimos el placer de conocerle hace un año, ya que quería aprender español, y nosostros inglés. Así que, empezamos a quedar todas las semanas, y algún que otro fin de semana.
¿Qué podemos decir de él? le encanta España, no entiende por qué nosotros estamos en Inglaterra. Una de sus ideas locas es alquilar un autobús para ir a España pero sin viaje de vuelta, sólo ida.
Nos los pasamos muy bien juntos, nos reímos muchísimo........es simplemente Chris, el Freaky superfantástico!!!!

Lets continue with introductions, this is our friend Chris. We were grateful to meet him just one year ago, because he wanted to learn Spanish and we did English. So, we started to meet together every week and also some weekend.
What could we say about him? he loves Spain and he does not understand why we are in England. One of his crazy ideas is, to hire a bus and go to Spain but only one way, no return ticket.
We have fun together, we laugh a lot......he is just Chris, The Freaky superfantástico!!!

Saturday night with Aaron and Andreas
Después de comer en casa con Aaron, nos fuimos a tomar algo al Old Trip Jerusalemm, donde además de encontrarnos con Andreas ( es un amigo nuestro alemán) conocimos también a unos españoles que vivían en Birmingham, y eran de Barcelona, de allí nos fuimos al Bell Inn que junto con el Old Trip Jerusalem son dos de los bares más antiguos que hay en Nottingham. Y al final, acabamos en el bar De Nada, que se supone que es español pero en realidad, lo único español que hay son las banderas del Español y del Valencia. Nos lo pasamos muy bien!!
After lunch at home with Aaron, we went out to the Old Trip Jerusalem, where we met Andreas ( he is a german friend of us). There, we also met some spaniards, from Barcelona, who lived in Birmingham. Then, we went to The Bell Inn, which along with The Old Trip Jerusalem are two of the oldest pubs in Nottingham. Finally, we ended up in the Bar De Nada. It is supposed to be Spanish, but, actually, there are only two spanish football flags, from Español and Valencia. We had a lovely night.

I am in the apartment of the fabulous Cesar and Maria after arriving by train from Derby. Jaysus, I tell youse boyos, it be daft old crowded with all the gomey folk making their way to the friggin shops. Half strange they be looking at you as if you had a cow tied your shoe laces on the back of a wheel barrow.
I don´t normally write like I have done in these previous two sentences but Maria and Cesar insisted that I confuse you as much as is humanly possible. Perhaps you should not be their friends because they are so cruel. Well, no, they are lovely. At the moment they are trying to learn how to play rugby. Their appartment is very clean and their salad was yummy.
¿Qué es Lustre 2007?
Hoy, Domingo hemos ido a la Universidad donde se celabraba el Lustre 2007 que no es otra cosa que una feria de artesanía. Había distintos puestecillos, donde sus autores y diseñadores mostraban y vendían sus creaciones. Había desde cojines, pendientes, collares, pulseras, jarrones y figuras de cristal, bufandas, bolsos, delantales, .... cosas muy chulas. Después nos hemos ido a dar un paseo al lago que hay en la Universidad, estaba muy bonito con los colores del otoño y hemos podido hacer unas cuantas fotos. Esperamos que os gusten.
What Lustre 2007 is?
Today, Sunday, we went to the exhibition center at the University where it took place Lustre 2007 which is just a craft makers' market. There were different stalls where the craft makers and designers showed and sold their products. There were from cushions, necklaces, bracelets, jars and scultures made of colorful glass, scarves, handbags, kitchen aprons,....very trendy stuff. Later, we went for a walk around the University lake. It was very beautiful with the Fall colours and we could take some pictures. We hope you like them.
Día de chicas en Malvern!!!
Ayer dejamos a los chicos en Nottingham y Sylvia y yo nos fuimos a Malvern ( cerca de Birmingham), donde había una muestra de colchas y pequeñas tiendas donde poder comprar lo útimo de lo último para volverte una auténtica "colgada" al patchwork. Y así fue, ahora ya puedo decir que soy una adicta al patchwork. Nunca había estado en un sitio así, y la verdad es que me encantó, de hecho hubo momentos en los que estaba alucinada con tantas y tantas cosas......así que además de bajar la media de edad, nos lo pasamos muy bien. Habrá que repetirlo!!
Girl day in Malvern!!
Yesterday, we left our boys in Nottingham and Sylvia and me went to Malvern (close to Birmingham) where there was a quilt exhibition and some shops where you can buy the latest trends to get hook on patchwork. So now, I might that I am addicted to it. I had never been in a place like that, and to be honest I loved it, in fact, at some moments I was freaking out with so, so many things....besides lowering the average age we had a very good time. We have to repeat it!!
Pedazo de concierto
Han pasado 5 días. Después de esperar durante 5 meses para este concierto, es una pena que el recuerdo más intenso del concierto de Arcade Fire en Nottingham sea el botellazo o zapatazo que sufrió Win Butler mientras cantaba Neighbourhood #3 (Power out). El concierto fue maravilloso hasta ese momento. Toda la intensidad que se transmite en sus discos, aumenta en concierto. Al principio se vio a un público frío y expectante. Pero a medida que avanzaban las canciones, el público se volcó con la banda. Y menuda banda, todos tocan todo excepto las dos violinistas. Una pasada de músicos. María se lo pasó en grande, cantando, botando. Tocaron todos los temazos. Y si después del botellazo no terminaron el concierto fue, en nuestra opinión, porque les quedaban las cuatro mejores canciones. Una pena y una pasada de concierto. Ya quiero verlos en un festival.
