Happy Birthday Roman!!

Ayer nos fuimos de fiesta a casa de Roman para celebrar su cumpleaños. Roman vive en Derby así que nos fuimos de excursión hasta allí, lo importante fue que no nos perdimos....
Además cuando llegamos nos estaban esperando entre cosas, con una mesa llena de deliciosos snacks que el cumpleañero había preparado.
Nos lo pasamos muy bien y conocimos a los dos pequeños amigos de Roman: unos hurones muy graciosos y que les gusta empinar el codo!!!
Se nos pasó el tiempo volando, tanto que perdimos el último autobús hacia Nottingham y tuvimos que volver en taxi. Pero, mereció la pena. Muchas gracias Román y que cumplas muchos más!!



Yesterday we went to Roman's to celebrate his birthday, 29!!!! Roman lives in Derby, a city just 20 km from Nottingham, so we did our weekly trip to there, and the rare point is we did not get lost. Besides, when we got there, he had prepared a table full of delicious snacks as the great host he is. We had a lot of fun and we met his two little friends, two cute ferrets which like drinking a bit!!!
Time went by so quickly, chatting, eating and drinking that we missed the last bus to Nottingham. Therefore we needed a cab to come back here, despite the generous invitation from Aaron and Roman for staying there. But, the great time and charming company we had made the party worthy. Thanks very much Roman and many more!!!

Feliz cumpleaños Amalia!!

Happy birthday Amalia!!

Ayer estuvimos cenando en casa de Amalia para celebrar su cumpleaños. Cenamos muy, muy bien, la cumpleañera nos deleitó con un plato típico de Rumania (de donde es ella) y de postre Banana bread hecho por Sergio.
Estuvimos con todos los compañeros de César, la verdad es que parecíamos la ONU!!! ya que estaban representados muchos países: Argentina, Rumania, Turquía, China, Irlanda, Inglaterra y por supuesto España. Pasamos una velada muy divertida y lo pasamos muy bien.



Yesterday we had dinner in Amalia's house to celebrate her birthday. The supper was very, very good. Amalia delighted us with a typical Romania recipe (she is from there) and Sergio made the dessert: Banana bread.
We were with all Cesar's collegues. The point is we look an UN meeting because we are from: Argentina, Romania, Turkey, China, Ireland, England and of course Spain. We had great fun.

Estamos de vuelta!!

We just back!!

Pues sí, después de pasar las Navidades en mañolandia ya hemos vuelto a la isla. Llegamos ayer por la tarde-noche, después de un viaje un poco largo ya que volamos desde Barcelona.
Por aquí, todo sigue igual y nada ha cambiado, bueno sí, que volvemos a tener la despensa llena!!!
Así que nada, volveremos otra vez a contaros nuestras andanzas por Nottingham en este nuevo año 2008!!!

That's right, after spending our Xmas at home, we just back to Nottingham. We arrived yesterday evening after a bit long trip because we flew from Barcelona.
Here everything is the same and nothing has changed. Ok, not everything, our pantry is completely full of spanish food!!
We will tell you our adventures in Nottingham in this new year 2008!!

Bueno ha llegado el último post del año 2007, al menos desde Nottingham. No sabemos si tendremos tiempo para poner nuestras aventuras por el paraiso maño. Queríamos desearos a todos una feliz navidad y un próspero año nuevo. Que todas vuestras ilusiones y deseos se cumplan en el 2008. Time has come for the last post of the year 2007, at least from Nottingham. We are not sure if we will be able to post our adventures in our paradise. Feliz Cumpleaños Stam!!

Happy birthday Stam!!!

Ayer Jueves salimos por ahí con unos amigos a celebrar el cumpleaños de Stamatis. Stam es uno de los compañeros de César en el trabajo y uno de los fellows del programa CMIAG. Sólo fuimos al Saltwater, pero fue más que suficiente para pasar una fantástica noche, charlando y aprendiendo algo de griego. Aquí teneís una foto de Stam y una buena amiga de él. Lo peor fue que está mañana había reunión a las 9 de la mañana.



Last Thursday we went out with some friends to celebrate Stamatis' birthday. Stam is one of Cesar's colleagues at work and one of the fellows of the CMIAG program. We just went to Saltwater, more than enough to have a fantastic night chatting and learning some Greek. Thanks very much for the invitation to the party. Here is a photo of Stam and a very friend of him. I only regret this morning we had a meeting at 9 o'clock in the morning.

Domingo en Milton Keynes

Sunday in Milton Keynes!!!

Hoy Domingo hemos ido a Milton Keynes . Ha vuelto hacer un mal día con frío, viento, lluvia, humedad,......pero teníamos muchas ganas de conocer a Oliver. Y os preguntaréis ¿quién es Oliver? es el bebé de Lenka y Altin que nació hace 12 días!!!!
Lenka es una amiga de María que conoció cuando estuvo trabajando en Milton Keynes. Así que hoy hemos conocido al pequeño de la casa. Es un bebé muy bueno y muy tranquilo, aunque alguna que otra noche prefiere "montar una fiesta" en casa. Hemos pasado un rato muy agradable con ellos y Oliver se ha portado muy bien. Enhorabuena a los nuevos papás!!!!
Luego, hemos estado con Carlos y Nyla. Y os preguntaréis, ¿quiénes son Carlos y Nyla? Carlos, alias El Alcoberreño ( de Alcubierre) es un amigo nuestro que conocimos cuando María estuvo en Milton Keynes y Nyla es su estupenda novia. Hemos pasado la tarde con ellos, hablando de la vida, filosofando un poco,.....pasando una buena tarde. Y finalmente hemos regresado a casa.



Today, Sunday, we went to Milton Keynes. Again, it was a terrible day with cold, windy, rain, humidity,....but we felt like meeting Oliver.I guess you are wondering, who is Oliver? He is Lenka and Altin's baby who was born just 12 days ago!!!!
Lenka is one of Maria's friends who we met while working in Milton Keynes. So, today, we have met the new member of the family. He is such a gorgeus baby, so calm. Although, some nights he likes party and keeps awake all night. We had a lovely time together and Oliver behaved very well. Congratulations to the new daddy and mummy!!!
Later, we were with Carlos and Nyla. Again, you are wondering who are they? Carlos, alias El Alcoberreño ( from Alcubierre) is our friend and we met him when María was in Milton Keynes, and Nyla is his friendly and nice girldfriend. We spent the afternoon with them, chating about life, talking the hind legs off a donkey,...having a good time. And finally, we came back home.
