Stanford and Berkeley
Stanford University
Ya sabeís lo flipado que es César con lo de las Universidades americanas y famosas. Por supuesto teniamos que visitar dos de las mejores universidades del mundo: Stanford y Berkeley. A Stanford fuimos porque César tenía una serie de seminarios sobre esas cosas raras que hace. Qué campus!!! Todo verde y un bonita mezcla de edificios antiguos y modernos. Como César es un mitomano pues durante la comida estuvimos paseando por los pasillos de los departamentos de estadistica y teleco, donde trabajan los profesores de los cuáles César lee artículos y ha estudiado durante la carrera. A César no le extraña que hagan cosas tan impresionantes, y es que tipos reconocidos mundialmente por su investigación y sus libros tienen sus despachos puerta con puerta.... :))

Otro día fuimos a Berkeley, famosa universidad porque fue donde se iniciaron casi todas las protestas estudiantiles hippies de los 60, y otros movimientos de protesta norteamericanos. También es una de las mejores universidades públicas de USA (Stanford es privada). El campus es más pequeñito, pero aún así se respira tranquilidad e historia estudiantil. Vimos una boda preciosa y estuvimos en el estadio de fútbol americano. También nos tomamos un café en la terraza del bar de la universidad, por supuesto con envase orgánico y reciclado. Por supuesto, también todos los portátiles eran Mac.

You might know how crazy César is about the good American universities. Of course, we needed to visit two of the best universities in the world: Stanford and Berkeley. We went to Stanford because César had a symposium about those weird brain things he does. What a campus!!! Everywhere green grass, and a beautiful mixture of old and modern buildings. As César is a bit mythomaniac we wandered across the corridors of the statistics and electrical engineering department, where many professors César reads and studies their articles and books work. Now, he is not surprised why these guys are so good and publish such an incredible research, and the point is that they work door-to-door, ... :))
University of Berkeley
Another day we went to Berkeley, famous university because it was where the protest and hippie movements started in the 60s. It is also one of the best public universities in the US (Stanford is not public). The campus is smaller, but charming and full of wisdom, history and ease. We had the chance of watching a marvellous wedding, and visited the football Stadium. We also had a coffee in the terrace of the University café. Of course, the cups were recycled and organic... and all laptops were Mac.
