A walk with mum.

A pesar de que sólo vimos el sol un par de días, y que la mayoria de los dias hizo mal tiempo con niebla y frio, eso, no nos impidió poder pasear por nuestra ciudad. Aqui, volvíamos a casa, andando desde el centro por la orilla del Ebro, esta vez nos acompañaba mi madre, que ella solica se lo pasó en grande desafiando a una de las fuentes que hay en Ranillas al lado del recinto de la Expo, si no se duchó fue de milagro!!!

Despite of the fact that we saw the sun only two or three days, because it was foggy and cold, that did not prevent us from going for a walk. Here, we just came back home walking from the city centre along the bank of the Ebro. This time my mum was with us and she had fun challenging one of the fountains which is in Ranillas, an area very close to the Expo exhibition. It was a miracle that she did not have a shower there!!

Navidad en Zaragoza

Zaragoza in Christmas.

Una de las cosas que mas nos gusta hacer es pasear por Zaragoza. Es curioso, pero desde que vivimos fuera, nos gusta cada vez más Zaragoza!!! asi que hoy, Domingo decidimos perdernos por las calles de nuestra ciudad, y disfrutar de su ambiente navideño. Fuimos por el centro, y por supuesto a la Plaza del Pilar donde como todos los años habian puesto un Belen muy grande por el que puedes pasear. Después entramos a la Basilica del Pilar a ver a nuestra Virgen (patrona de Zaragoza) como buenos maños que somos, y pusimos rumbo a casa, montados en las nuevas bicicletas que el Ayuntamiento puso a raiz de la Expo. Os podemos asegurar que nos lo pasamos pipa, ya que entre otras cosas nos recordaba a Verano Azul!!! Os dejamos con unas fotos, esperamos que os gusten!!!

One of the things that we love to do in Zaragoza is to go for a walk. It is curious, but since we live abroad, we have realized that we like Zaragoza more and more!!! therefore, today Sunday we decided to wander around the streets of our city and enjoy of its festive Christmas spirit. We went to the city centre and of course we visited the Basilic of El Pilar to see the "Virgen del Pilar", who is the saint mother of Zaragoza. After that, we were bound for home cycling in the new bycicles which the City Council placed around the city. We can assure you that we had a lot of fun because it remained us of Verano Azul!!! we leave you with dome pictures and we hope you like them!!

Cena con nuestros amigos!!!

Ayer sábado nos fuimos a cenar con los amigos a un restaurante donde Cesar y yo seguimos disfrutando de la deliciosa comida española!!! jamoncico, queso, longaniza, chorizo, morcilla, chuletas con patatas,...... todo no apto para vegetarianos!!! Después de cenar salimos por ahi, a ver el ambiente que había por Zaragoza, como suele decir un amigo nuestro!!!

Yesterday, Saturday we had dinner with our friends. We went to a restaurant where Cesar and I continued enjoying of the delicious and yummy Spanish food!!! jamon, cheese, longaniza, chorizo, black pudding, lamb with potatos,.....everything was not suitable for vegetarians!!! Then, we went aout to see the festive atmosphere of Zaragoza, as one of our friend use to say!!!

Dia de Navidad!!

Como manda la tradición celebramos el día de Navidad (25 de Diciembre) comiendo con nuestras respectivas familias. Despues de una suculenta comida y una larga y agradable sobremesa nos fuimos a dar una vuelta y tomar algo con nuestros amigos. Aunque, al final la vuelta se hizo bastante larga o es que creo que dimos muchas vueltas ya que acabamos un poco tarde. Pero como siempre mereció la pena, no sólo porque estabamos con nuestros amigos, sino porque vimos gente que hacía tiempo que no lo hacíamos y fue una grata sorpresa. Y nada, como siempre unas foticos para refrescarnos la memoria.

Following the tradition, we celebrated the Christmas Day (25 December) having lunch with our families. After a delicious and succulent meal and an extent and lovely chatting around the table, we went out for a walk and have a drink with our friends. Although, at the end we walked for a while or maybe we walked too much because we ended up a little bit late. However, it was worthy, not only because we spent time with our friends, but also, because we met people who did not see them for a very long time and it was a nice surprise for all of us. As usual some pictures to refresh our memories.

Bueno, el 2008 ya se acaba, o por lo menos nosotros ya nos vamos a mañolandia en unas horas, asi que queriamos aprovechar la ocasión para felicitaros un año mas las navidades, y desearos un feliz año 2009!!! Que todas vuestras ilusiones y deseos se hagan realidad en este nuevo año, y por supuesto seguiremos contadoos nuestras andanzas por la isla un año mas!!!

Wedding Party!!

Celebración de Boda en Nottingham!!!

Ayer Viernes, por fin pudimos celebrar nuestra boda con nuestros amigos en Nottingham. La fiesta la hicimos junto con Antonio y Elisa, nuestras amigos italianos que se casaron dos semanas antes que nosotros. Andreas nos dejó su casa para hacer alli la fiesta, ya que eramos mucha gente y nuestras casas no son tan grandes. Preparamos comida tanto española como italiana, y la verdad es que todo estaba muy bueno, y nos lo pasamos muy bien. Muchas gracias a todos por venir y vuestros regalos, y sobre todo gracias Andreas por dejarnos tu casa!!!! Os dejamos con unas fotillas en el link.



Finally, yesterday, Friday we could make our wedding party with our friends in Nottingham. We made the party with our italian friends, Antonio and Elisa who got married two weeks before us. The party was in Andreas's house because we were lot of people and our houses are not big enough. We cooked some spanish and italian food and everything was delicious. We had a great time!!! We thank everybody for coming and the presents, especially Andreas for his house!!! We leave you with some pictures in the link.

Acabamos las clases!!!

Hoy Viernes Maria ha terminado las clases por este año, aunque todavia le queda por entregar un trabajo la semana que viene. Para celebrarlo nos fuimos todos a comer juntos por ahi, y luego estuvimos tomando algo en el bar de la uni y acabamos la noche en un pub llamado White Horse. Alli ademas de tener karaoke (con todas las canciones en ingles) pudimos descrubir la verdadera Nottingham. La verdad es que, como siempre, nos lo pasamos genial y estamos pensando ir todos los viernes como una tradición. Bueno, os dejamos con algunas fotos.



Today Friday Maria just finished her lectures for this term, althought we have to handle one assesment next week. In order to celebrate it we went out for lunch all together and in the evening we met in the pub of the University. Cesar came later from work. We ended up in a pub called White Horse, where there is karaoke on Fridays. There you can find the real Nottingham. As usual we had a great time and we are thinking to start going there every Friday as a tradition. We leave you with some pictures, I recommend them.

Alianza internacional!!

Este Domingo ha habido una importante reunión para el futuro de la politica internacional. Representantes de Italia, Irlando y España se ha reunido en el maravilloso entorno de la Chastworth House en la campiña inglesa. No sabemos de lo que hablaron pero tenemos fotos del encuentro, del frio que hacia y de lo locos que estan (unos mas que otros)



This Sunday there has been an important meeting for the future of International Politics. Representatives from Italy, Ireland and Spain met in the wonderful area of the Chastworth House, English countryside. We are unaware of what they talked about but we have got pictures of the event, the extreme temperatures they suffered and their crazy behaviour.

Oliver First Birthday!!

Primer cumpleaños de Oliver!!

Hoy sabado hemos ido a Milton Keynes ya que Oliver (el hijo de mi amiga Lenka) cumplia su primer añito. Para la ocasión sus padres le prepararon una fiesta de cumple con alguno de sus amiguitos y primos. He de decidir que nosotros nos encargamos de la decoración, y por un momento fue como si volviesemos a nuestros mejores tiempos en Amanecer!!! Mientras los niños jugaban o les pintaban la cara, los mayores disfrutamos de la comida, pasteles,.......increible!!! Nos lo pasamos muy bien, sobre todo mi chico que disfrutó como un auntentico niño!! Como siempre os dejamos con unas foticos.



Today, Saturday, we went to Milton Keynes because it was the first birthday of Oliver (Maria's friend Lenka's son). For the special ocasion his parents preparated a birthday party with his friends and cousins. I have to say that we decorated the place and for a moment it remaind us our best moments in Amanecer!!! While the kids were playing and had the face painted, the adults enjoyed the food, sweets,...amaizing!! We had fun, above all Cesar who became another kid too!!! Ayer sabado Carly y Leticia (dos amigas de Maria) celebraron sus respectivos cumpleaños en Rock City. Nos lo pasamos muy bien, como siempre y lo mejor de todo es que estabamos a tres minutos de casa jejejeje!!!. Felicidades a las dos y que cumplais muchos muchos mas!!! (mas fotos en picasa)



Yesterday night Carly and Leticia (Maria's friends) celebrated their birthdays in Rock City. We had a lot of fun, as usual, and the best part is that the place is just three minutes from our home, hahahaha!!! Happy birthday both of you and many many more years!!! (more pictures in the link)

Al día siguiente sorprendimos a nuestros amigos ya que desayunamos con ellos!! ninguno lo sabía pero dormimos en el mismo sitio que ellos!!! Después los de Lahorra iniciaron su camino de regreso y los de Mañolandia, hicieron turismo por Ainsa antes de volver a casita. Os dejamos con algunas de las fotos que hicieron de su estancia en Ainsa.



Next day we surprised our friends having breakfast together!! nobody knew it but we slept in the same place as them!!! Later everybody crove back their homes although our friends from Zaragoza visited Ainsa (a beautiful village) on their way. We leave you with some pictures of the village.

Después de muchos años juntos, esfuerzos, nervios,....nuestro gran día llegó. Aunque llovió un poco durante la ceremonia y tuvimos que pasar al Plan B, podemos asegurar que tuvimos la boda que siempre quisimos. After many many years together, efforts, nervous,....our big day came. Although it rained a little bit during the ceremony, which forced us to change into Plan B, we can assure you that the wedding was the one we always dreamt. It was fantastic thanks to you: relatives and friends. Therefore thank you very much!! And, of course, we have uploaded some pictures in the link.

Que poco quedaba para el gran dia!!! que nervios!! y que alegría poder ver a todos nuestros amigos ya en Bielsa preparados para disfrutar mañana a tope!!! Como podeis ver en la fotos la novia cumplió con la tradición y pasó su última noche de soltera cenando y durmiendo en El Parador con sus padres. Y os podemos asegurar que la suite era mas grande que nuestra casa de Nottingham!!!. Lo dicho, os dejamos con unas fotos para que podais refrescar la memoria. Few hours left to the Big Day!!! butterflies in my stomach!! and what a happy night when we saw all our friends in Bielsa ready to enjoy the wedding day!! As you can see in the pictures, the bride fullfil the tradition and she spent her last night having dinner and sleeping in the Parador with her parents. Este Sabado recibimos la visita de nuestros amigos Lenka y Altin con su preciso hijo Oliver, que esta hecho todo un hombrecito ya!!! A pesar del mal tiempo que hacia, fuimos a pasear por Nottingham y a comer por ahi. Nos alegramos mucho de volver a verlos, la proxima vez sera a finales de Noviembre cuando celebremos el primer cumple de Oliver!!



This Saturday our friends Lenaka and Altin, with their gorgeous son Oliver visited us. Oliver is getting bigger and bigger!! In spite of the bad weather we went for a walk and had lunch in the Flaming Dragon. It was really good to see them again, the next time will be at the end of November when we will celebrate Oliver's first birthday!!

Este fin de semana Cesar se fue a Barcelona, bueno mejor dicho a Torredembarra ya que le habian preparado su despedida de soltero. Las palabras sobran ya que una imagen vale mas que mil palabras!!! Asi que os recomendamos que veais las fotos!!



This weekend Cesar went to Barcelona, more precisely to Torredembarra, because his friends made his stag night. No comments, a picture is worth a thousands words!! We recommend you to see the photos!!

Fiesta del centro de resonancia magnetica

MRI Center Meal.
Este Sabado tuvimos una magnifica fiesta del centro de Resonancia Magnetica que es donde trabaja Cesar. Tres supervisores de Cesar viven en Westbridford, que es un barrio de Nottingham, y decidieron hacer como una ruta culinaria. Los entrantes los comimos en casa de Sue, los platos principales en casa de Penny y por ultimo los postres en casa de Richard. Comimos estupendamente, nos lo pasamos estupendamente y acabamos tomando la ultima cervez en el Salt& Water con Roman y Gerda. Como siempre os dejamos con unas fotillos en Picasa.



This Saturday we had a wonderful party of the MRI Center which is where Cesar works. Three of the Cesar's supervisors: Sue, Penny and Richard live in West Bridford (a neighbourhood of Nottingham. They decided to make a party between their houses. We started at Sue's with the starters, the main courses were at Penny's and finally the desserts at Richard's. Everything was fantastic, we had fun and we finished in the Salt&Water with Roman and Gerda. As usual, we leave you with some pictures in yhe picassa link.

A finales de Agosto, Clemente volvió a Nottingham unos días para terminar y depositar su tesis. Por esa razón el viernes nos fuimos por ahi, primero estuvimos en el pub y luego fuimos a cenar y continuar la fiesta en casa de Olivier. Fueron pocos días los que estuvo pero la verdad es que estuvo muy bien volverlo a ver. A principios de Octubre volverá y podremos celebrar que ya será Doctor Cobos!!!



At the end of August, our friend Clemente came back to Nottingham to finish and deposit his tesis. For this reason we went out all of us together. First we went to the pub and then we went to Olivier's to have dinner and continue the party. Clemente was here a few days but it was really good to see him again. He will come back at the beginning of October, and then we will celebrate that he will be Dr. Cobos!!!

Horrenses

En Agosto vinieron a visitarnos unos amigos de La Horra: Marta, Alberto en Iñigo. Estuvieron con nosotros una semana y creo que hicieron más kilometros en esa semana que en toda su vida!!;)
Estuvimos en Londres, Cambridge, Oxford, Sherwood Forest, Stratford upon avon,...y por supuesto Nottingham City!!! Nos lo pasamos muy bien juntos, y encima nos llenaron la despesa de buen jamón, choricico y vino,....que más ibamos a pedir? asi una cosa...... que volvais!!! Os dejamos con unas fotillos.



In August some of our friends from La Horra (Cesar's village) came to visit us to Nottingham. Marta Alberto and Iñigo spent one week with us and I believe they drove more kilometres in that week than never and ever in their lives!!. We were in London, Cambridge, Oxford, Sherwood Forest, Stratford upon avon,...and of course in Nottingham City. We had fun together and they also full our pantry with good spanish ham, chorizo and wine.......what else can we ask? oh yes.....you need to come back!!! we leave with some pictures.

EXPO 2008

Zaragoza EXPO 2008

No podiamos dejar pasar la oportunidad de decir que este año ha sido el lanzamiento internacional de Zaragoza con la EXPO 2008. El tema era suficientemente importante para que le demos un poco al coco, el desarrollo sostenible y el agua. Aunque nosotros no hemos podido disfrutarlo mucho, seguro que ha sido un acontecimiento memorable y que ha cambiado nuestra querida ciudad natal. Sólo pudimos pasar dos días en el recinto de la EXPO, pero nos encanto. Como siempre, unas fotillos en el link de picasa.



We cannot miss the opportunity to mention that this year has been an important year for our city, Zaragoza. It has gain international recognition for organizing an international exhibition, which was dedicated to the water and sustainable development. Although we could not enjoy at a great extent, we are sure it was a memorable event, changing the layout and feeling of Zaragoza and its citizens. We only spent two days in the area, but we loved it and we'll be back. In fact it is only 5 min walking from Maria's parents' house. As usual more photos in our picasa link.

A mediados de Julio fuimos a Barcelona donde Cesar tenia una conferencia. Cesar estuvo 5 dias y yo fui el fin de semana aunque algo accidentada. Alli estuvimos unas horas con nuestros amigos de Zaragoza ya que habian ido al Summercase Festival. Os dejamos con unas fotos.



In mid-July we went to Barcelona because Cesar had a conference there. Cesar was 5 days and I came along for the weekend since I was in Zaragoza, although I was a bit injured. There, we spent some hours with our friends from Zaragoza. They went to the Summercase Festival which took place there as well. Please have a look to the pictures in picasa.

Felicidades cariño!!! que mayor eres ya!! has llegado a los 30, pero no te preocupes que eres como los buenos vinos que maduran y mejoran con los años ;) Para celebrarlo salimos por ahi con nuestros amigos al Sir John y al Salt and Water. Nos lo pasamos muy bien y esperamos que cumplas muchos más!!!



Congratulations my love!! you are 30 years old!!! but do not worry because you are as the good wines which improve with years ;) To celebrate we went out with our friends to the Sir John and the Salt and Water. We had fun and I wish you all the best and many many years!!

Australia: Sydney and Melbourne

Y en Junio Cesar se fue a Australia a una conferencia. Primero estuvo en Sydney y luego pasó unos días en Melbourne. Además de poder visitar estas dos ciudades, recorrieron la Great Ocean Road y acabaron en los Doce Apostoles. Si quereis ver más fotos están en el link de picasa. In June Cesar went to Australia for a conference. First he was in Sydney and then he spent a few days in Melbourne. Apart from visiting both cities he also drove the Great Ocean Road, finishing at the Twelve Apostols. If I were you I would see our link in picasa, the pictures are great!!

Barbacue at Mister B's house!!

Barbacoa en casa de Mister B!!

Este sábado Bossida y su familia nos invitaron a una barbacoa en su casa. Fue fantástica, y la comida estaba deliciosa. Disfrutamos mucho del sitio, (tienen un jardín en la parte trasera de la casa muy grande, con árboles, flores,..muy bonito) de la comida, el vino, y sobre todo de la compañía. Estuvimos con su mujer Kata, su hija Marina y otra pareja de amigos, Monica y Dominique.
Nos lo pasamos bien, y desde aquí aprovechamos para daros las gracias por todo. Habrá que repetirlo!!




This Saturday, Bossida and his family invited us for a barbacue at his house. It was fantastic, full of meat, not suitable for vegetarians, everything was delicious. We loved their house, they have a beautiful, cozy garden in the backyard, we loved it even though the cool day. Good friends, good entertainment, good food, good spanish wine, all good. We were Bossida's wife, Kata, their daughter, Marina, two other Maria's friends, Monica and Dominique. Thanks very much for the lovely day we spent and we look forward to the next time.

Viernes noche!!!

Ayer por la noche nos fuimos con Sergio y Aaron a cenar por ahí y a tomar unas "pintillas". Estuvimos cenando en el Broadway, y la verdad es que cenamos muy bien. Luego, nos fuimos a uno de nuestros pubs favoritos, Ye Old Tripp, no sólo por el sitio en sí, sino por la variedad de cervezas locales que tienen. Pasamos una agradable velada y nos echamos unas cuantas risas juntos. Como siempre, os dejamos con unas fotillos.



Yesterday night we went out with Sergio and Aaron. We went for dinner to Broadway and the meals were very good. Later, we went to one of our favorite pubs, Ye Old Trip Jerusalem. We like it, not only because it is a good place to stay with your friends, but also, because of the excellent variety of English beers. We had a lovely time, fun and laughs. Una semana increible!!!

An incredible week!!

Hay un dicho muy famoso que dice que "todo lo bueno pasa pronto" y otro que dice "que a lo bueno uno se acostumbra muy pronto". Pues eso es lo que me ha pasado a mi esta semana, la razón, mi madre vino a estar conmigo una semana. Y ha sido increíble, nos lo hemos pasado muy bien, hemos disfrutado la una de la otra, y ha sido una semana de chicas!!!! Además el buen tiempo ha reinado en la isla, salvo un dia todos los dias ha hecho sol e incluso calor, así que hemos podido salir a dar una vuelta y tomar el vermut en la terraza con el solecico!!! Desde aquí aprovecho la oportunidad para decirte madre, que muchas gracias por haber venido, por todo tu apoyo y por los estupendos días que hemos pasado junticas!!! This last week my mum had been with me and we had an incredible and wonderful time together. She came here to help me with my pre-exams stress. Likely the weather was fantastic and we could go out and enjoy Nottingham. I seize the opportunity to thank her for her support and love. I wish this week had not gone by so quickly. I finish with some pictures that we took yesterday afternoon when we went out with Cesar, who came back from his conference in Toronto.

As all of you know, my Cesar went to Toronto to attend a conference there. He seized the great opportunity to visit The Niagara Falls. According to him and his pictures the falls are breath-taking!!!. As usual, you can see them in our link more pictures picasa. We hope you like and enjoy them.

Ya somos ACB!!!

Este año sí, este año sí, este año siiiii!!!!

Por fin, después de 6 añitos en el infierno de la LEB y de tres años llegando al partido decisivo, hoy viernes 9 de Mayo del 2008 nuestro equipo CAI Zaragoza ha subido a una de las mejores ligas del mundo del baloncesto: la ACB.
Lástima no haber podido estar allí, de hecho yo estuve escuchando el partido en Aragón Radio a través de internet y Cesar se enteró de la gran noticia cuando estaba visitando las Cataratas del Niagara y se puso a saltar como un loco!!!
A pesar de la distancia, por un momento fue como si estuvieramos allí, celebrandolo con los jugadores y con las 11.000 personas que abarrotaban el Pabellón Príncipe Felipe y muchas más que acabaron en la Plaza de España!!!
AHORA MAS QUE NUNCA CAI ZARAGOZA!!!!

Día en Castleton!!

Day in Castleton!!

Ayer nos fuimos de excursión con Sylvia, Sergio y German a Castleton, un pueblecillo que es famoso por sus cuevas. Lástima que sólo pudimos visitar una: The Peak Cavern. Pero volveremos otro día para visitar el resto, además una de ellas se hace en una pequeña barca!!! Nos hizo un día muy bueno, hacía mucho tiempo que no salía un día así, no hizo el calor de Zaragoza pero llegamos a los 20 grados e hizo algo de sol, qué más podíamos pedir!!! Nos los pasamos muy bien, vimos unas paisajes muy bonitos, y muy verdes!!! Disfrutamos de todo: del tiempo, el paisaje, la comida y sobre todo de vuestra compañía!!! Gracias chicos!!



Yesterday, we went on a trip with Sylvia, Sergio and Germán. We visited Castleton, a small village which is famous for its caverns. It was a pity that we could see only one of them: The Peak Cavern. But we have decided to come back and visit the rest of them, besides, one of them is visited with a small boat !!
It was a lovely sunny day, in fact it was long since we saw the sun!! it was 20 degrees, of course it wasn't as warm as in Zaragoza, but what else we could ask!!! We had fun, we enjoyed beautiful green scenaries, along with a wonderful weather, the countryside, the food, and above all your company!!! Thank you guys!!

Fiesta en casa de Andreas

Ayer por la noche estuvimos en casa de Andreas que celebraba una fiesta. En principio el plan era barbacoa y fiesta pero con el frio que hacia, de hecho por la tarde-noche estuvo nevando, se quedo en fiesta. Y menuda fiesta, casi 50 personas, casi todos del brain and body centre y del SPMMRC. Había muchísima comida, toda deliciosa, como es habitual en todas las fiestas de Andreas, y buena música y gente sana con la que charlar y filosofar. Ya tenemos ganas de que llegue el buen tiempo y la temporada de barbacoas.



Yesterday night we went to Andreas' for a fantastic party. Barbecue was the first idea, but the weather was so cold, in fact it snows now and then, that he decided to keep on the plan but with a party. And what a party!! Nearly 50 people from brain and body centre and SPMMRC. Too much food, delicious all of it, as it is common in all Andreas' parties, good music and friendly people to chat with. We are already looking forward to a better weather so that the barbecue season begins.
